WE ARE SITTING ON A TIME BOMB – LAWYER MAURICE AMPAW
The Founder and Leader of Action Chapel International, Archbishop Duncan Williams’s take on fighting corruption in the country has staged controversies all over by most anti corruption campaigners.
The maverick Archbishop is of the view that everyone in the country is corrupt one way or the other and therefore all heads will roll if we are to deal with corrupt people in the country.
But speaking in an interview with akokoa mpaninsem on Sikkafm’s Kasapreko show this morning, Lawyer Ampaw disputed the claim and called on the Archbishop to do more grounds check before making such statements.
“We are sitting on a time bomb if even our pastors are corrupt. What checks was done before he came out with this? You don’t just get up and say all are corrupt. Does it mean he (Archbishop) is corrupt?” Lawyer Ampaw quizzed
He further stated that, there are so many people in the country who are not corrupt, mentioned Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo as one of such people.
He called on the President Nana Addo to show high level of commitment in fighting this canker.
In reaction to the office of the Special Prosecutor, he believes that can’t eradicate corruption because the Special prosecutor is a human being and therefore can be influenced.
